Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Residently helps you move abroad. To do that, you trust us with sensitive documents. This policy explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, and (if you choose "Sign in with Google") your name and profile picture. We sign you in with email links or your Google account, so no passwords are stored.
- Application details — the information you give us about your move: where you're from, where you're going, your visa type, target dates, and your answers to our intake questions.
- Documents — files you upload (passport pages, bank statements, background checks, and similar). These are the heart of the service.
- Payment details — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Messages — questions you ask our support chat and AI guide.
How we use it
- To build your checklist and to run the AI review you asked for — reading your documents against published official requirements and telling you what may cause a problem. That review is processed by Anthropic's Claude models under contractual confidentiality; your documents are not used to train their models.
- To email you sign-in links and updates about your checklist.
- If you buy a service from us — an apostille, a sworn translation, a notarization, or the full done-for-you move — to carry that service out. That necessarily means sending the specific document to the specific partner performing that job: for example, sending your criminal record to the apostille service, or your employer letter to the sworn translator. We send them only the documents that job requires, and only for as long as it takes to do it.
We do not lodge anything with a government body without your instruction. If you have bought the full done-for-you move, preparing and submitting your application is the service you asked for, and we will tell you before anything is submitted. If you have only bought a review, we send your documents to no one but our AI provider — you file it yourself.
Signing in with Google
If you choose “Sign in with Google,” Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us. We use this only to create and sign you into your Residently account — to identify you and keep your application secure. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data. We never sell or share this information and never use it for advertising. You can revoke Residently’s access at any time in your Google Account permissions.
What we never do
- We never sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
- We never share your documents with anyone except the AI provider that performs your review, and — only if you have bought a service from us — the specific partner performing that specific job. Never anyone else, and never for any other purpose.
- We never use your documents for advertising or model training.
How we protect it
Documents are stored encrypted in access-controlled private storage. Every account's data is isolated with row-level security. Access by our team is limited and logged. Payments are processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1).
Deleting your data
You own your data. Email privacy@residently.ai and we'll permanently delete every document we hold on you. Done. No questions, no lingering copies, confirmed in writing within 30 days.
Where data lives
Our infrastructure runs on Supabase and Vercel. Documents you upload are sent to Anthropic to perform the review you requested, and nowhere else. We do not transfer your data to consulates or government bodies — you file your own application.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it at any time. If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the rights set out in the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
